Regina Schuber has always drawn inspiration from the people in her life. Her grandfather was a commercial flower grower in Birmingham, Alabama. Her mother grew up during the Depression peddling flowers on street corners. She shared her love of flowers and the beauty of the garden with her children. The oldest of four children Regina was born in Atlanta, Georgia. As a young girl, she was constantly rearranging the furniture in her bedroom. She has always enjoyed beautiful things and making beauty in her home and garden.

She was influenced tremendously by her home economics teachers in high school. She said, “Actually, I did not plan to study home economics, but it was a requirement for graduation at the new school to which I transferred my sophomore year.” She discovered that it was a diverse discipline that addressed many of her interests. She took every course she could during the last two years of high school. “I still have (somewhere) the ‘Dream House’ we had to design and draw to scale and the first place ribbon for floral design sponsored by the local garden club.”

Regina continued her studies at the Women's College of Georgia- now Georgia College and State University graduating with minors in art and science which complimented her Home Economics major.

She taught school for 10 years including classes in Interior Design. During the summers she worked with an antiques dealer to learn more about antiques and how to refinish and restore old pieces. Eventually she had her own antique business when there was no more space in the house and her husband Mickey said, "You have to sell some of this furniture!"

“I was contacted about that time by a building contractor who wanted a designer to make decorative decisions that would give him an edge in the very competitive Atlanta market.” Regina decided then to leave teaching and devote all of her professional efforts to interior design.

In her leisure time Regina enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, music, and traveling. She is married to Mickey Schuber. They have one son, Derek, who works in building construction in Athens, Georgia.
